I recently got my cdrw drive working with ATAPI as described in the the forums (https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=32009). I also have a usb pendrive which uses scsi emulation to mount. Has anyone found a way to mount a usbdrive without scsi emulation?? I would like to get rid of it in my kernel.

Thanks!!

I do not think there are other ways to make usb pendrive working than with SCSI emulation.

It's cdrecord 2 that made your cdrecorder working with atapi... They change a lot of lines inside the source.
