Hello, I'm trying to get my ftp/samba server setup, and I have a bunch of files that have chinese characters in the filename. Samba and proftpd unfortunately don't work properly, and the filenames get messed up when they get copied/ftp'd over to the server. I've tried all the unicode howto's (like using localedef, etc.), but none of those seem to work. I know NTFS has utf-8 support (iocharset=utf8), but no such option exists for ext3/reiserfs.
Any suggestions? (the server is running Gentoo 1.4_rc4 with ext3 and reiserfs filesystems. It was built from scratch with USE="nls cjk samba cups") _________________ McManus
