I just finished installing (compiling) my new Gentoo desktop . the last time i did this wa with 2006 mini
this time i use 2007.0 mini.
any way while compiling gnome i came to this problem that i cant over come regarding control-center-2.20.1
here is the errors i get :
Code:

gentux ~ # emerge -pv gnome

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies -
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=gnome-base/control-center-2.20.1" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- gnome-base/control-center-2.20.3 (masked by: required EAPI 1, supported EAPI 0)
- gnome-base/control-center-2.20.1 (masked by: required EAPI 1, supported EAPI 0)
- gnome-base/control-center-2.20.1-r1 (masked by: required EAPI 1, supported EAPI 0)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.
(dependency required by "gnome-base/gnome-2.20.1" [ebuild])

I try following http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=2&chap=1 but the error persist
i also try http://gentoo-wiki.com/Masked but its mostly the same.
how can this problem be solved ?

That's strange...

What version of portage are you using?

You should really update that (portage) first if you haven't done so already, and an `emerge --metadata` afterwards might be an idea.

Yeah, sounds like you need to
Code:
emerge portage

EAPI 1 was just instituted to ebuilds not too long ago.
