does it matter which unix shell is running when I use portage? in all descriptions examples are given for bash.
Are there any experiences whether there are problems if root runs on zsh and emerges ebuild? |

I dont know much about ebuilds, but usually in a script, you have to specify the shell which runs the script, either in the first line, or on the commandline when executing it. I cant imagine that this would be a problem with portage anyhow. Maybe you just start a zsh from your normal bash and try it out. |

IMHO it shouldn't matter. The reason for the examples being in bash is that it's the most commen shell. _________________ Why?
