Have you looked at the Grub Manual? _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Obviously, 'man grub' or 'info grub' (esp. latter) will provide more information. |

Hi,
It's actually very simple.
Download Gimp plugin=> http://registry.gimp.org/plugin?id=1883
Copy it to somewere in .gimp/scripts/ dir. Start Gimp,
open an image that you want to use as GRUB background, and save it
using gimp grub-plugin. DONE! It will be saved as grub start image.
Mount /boot, and copy your new image to /boot/grub/
(You might want to make a backup of your old one)
Goodluck!
Note: you can use any type of image that gimp can open! _________________ Facts are stupid things.

Oh, thanx Russki!
One more question; how do I know if Gimp found the plugin? _________________ "Linux is communism" - Balmer, Microsoft. |

If you've done it correctly, you will see somewere under "save as" a new
entry. It looks like "export as grub image" or "save as grub image".
Sorry, I can't remember exactly how it looks there, not at my Gentoo box at the moment. Try it, and you'll find it.
Oh, .gimp dir has two folders: scripts and plugins. Try to copy it to plugins folder to be sure. One of them should do it.
