Ok...so Im setting up Gentoo. Im a noobie, but I have a friend to help and a VERY good guide.

In the guide, It tells me to partition. I partition just as it tells me to. Viola, Its partitioned. Then, it tells me how it is sposed to look. Just to be sure I did it right, since this is my first time touching Gentoo, I check it out.

In the guide, it says it should look like:

Code:

Command (m for help): p

Disk /dev/hda: 30.0 GB, 30005821440 bytes
240 heads, 63 sectors/track, 3876 cylinders
Units=cylinders of 15120 * 512=7741440 bytes

Device    Boot    Start      End    Blocks       Id     System
/dev/hda1  *          1        14    105808+    83     Linux
/dev/hda2            15        81    506520      82     Linux swap
/dev/hda3            82      3876  28690200   83     Linux

Well, odd....mine looks more like:

Code:

Command (m for help): p

Disk /dev/hda: 4321 MB, 4321787904 bytes bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 525 cylinders
Units=cylinders of 16065 * 512=8225280 bytes

Device    Boot    Start      End    Blocks       Id     System
/dev/hda1  *          1        5       40131       83     Linux
/dev/hda2            6         68     506047+    82     Linux swap
/dev/hda3            69       525   367052+     83     Linux

Im a bit worried...If you need any further explenation of my problem, please contact me via any of the instant messangers listed in my profile or reply to this topic.

Thank you very much for your time.

Seems okay to me ...

The example from the howto and yours just differ in the size of harddisks. They use a 30G hd and yours is just 4G "big". So Start, End and Blocks must be different. Everything's fine ... just go on installing.
