faccio solo che pastarvi l'errore non credo serva molto altro

Se proprio vuoi continuare ad usare fetchmail, prova ad aggiungere:

auth password

dovrebbe risolvere il problema.
Non ricordo di preciso se sia una opzione globale o se vada specificata per ogni account, magari dai prima una scorsa al manuale.
Io, però, ti consiglio di passare a getmail, che IMHO funziona molto meglio.
