Just a question. Why there is no kexec in 2007.0 ? Is it planned in 2008.0 ?
It will be very useful feature, because on PC installed remotely, when no staff available, even you eject CDROM before reboot somehow, it will be again loaded by BIOS (just try to reboot PC with opened CDROM, on BIOS init it will close CDROM back), and PC will boot from CD again.
Over kexec i can load new kernel and at least simulate how system works and continue installing with compiled kernel, it will be much more comfortable. |
