Instant messenger file transfers stopped working

I used to be able to send and receive files in Gaim 0.63 without any problems. However, they recently stopped working. I can still send files to myself, but if someone sends something to me and I accept it, the other person's IM client says that it is still waiting for me to respond.

At first, I thought that this was a Gaim issue, but I cannot receive files in Naim, or in AIM or Trillian running in WINE either. I don't know about Naim, but I know that AIM and Trillian file transfers worked before.

Does anyone know what might be going on?

(I have IPTables 1.2.7a-r3, if that helps.)

Have you recently moved your computer behind a firewall that would be dropping these packets?

Maybe you've recently misconfigured IPtables?

You also might want to try reemerging gaim (admittedly I'm not sure why this would help, but you may have tweaked a default setting out of whack or something similar)
