Non riesco a far andare mpirun sulla mia macchina: | Code: | canduc@candell ~ $ mpirun -np 4 hello

Ho installato mpich anche su una ubuntu, che dava lo stesso errore...installando il pacchetto openssh-server, l'errore è scomparso...
Il fatto è che per Gentoo non c'è un pacchetto analogo. O se c'è, come cavolo si chiama?
Ho guardato questa guida, ma non fà al caso mio, credo: si riferisce alla creazione di un vero e proprio cluster...io ho solo bisogno di simulare il lancio di un programma su più processori.
Ho visto sul forum che qualcuno ha risolto installando mpich2, ma non posso, devo assolutamente usare mpich1...richiesta del prof...
C'è qualcuno che si intende di programmazione parallela?

Qui l'errore (o almeno un errore).
Come dicevi tu stesso ti serve ssh.
Basta installare ssh (net-misc/openssh) e magari aggiungere il server ai servizi di boot (si chiama sshd), così non devi avviarlo a mano ogni volta che ti serve.
Se hai la use "crypt" attivata ssh dovrebbe avertelo già installato
