|
|
Hi everyone,
I got a brand new computer (P5K Premium, Q6600, 4Go ram, etc ...).
I used to run over Ubuntu but i said "well, i'm gonna switch to that awsome Gentoo !"
I use the live CD every is allright ..
But when i try to boot, gentoo only fin the first partition (/dev/sda1) on my sata disk and hence fails mounting my root directory (/dev/sda3).
My BIOS configuration is Jmicron activated, sata activated (compatible, AHCI) ...
I've compiled all the modules i seem to need with regards to ohter topics (Intel ICH, JMicron PATA, and so on)
But it always fails and i'm about to become completely crazy ! ! !!
Has anyone an idea ?
tks
PS: sorry for my poor english, i'm french ... |

I also have the P5K Premium, Q6600, 4Gb ram. Use my 2.6.24 kernel config (which doesn't include support for that horrible jmicron, or the built-in sound). |

The kernel 2.6.24 is in ~ version, so yes, but you have to use the /etc/portage/package.keyword to release it.
Code: |
# echo 'sys-kernel/gentoo-sources ~x86' >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
|
This example is if you have a x86 arch. |

I'm completely ignoring jmicron. Had enough problems with it, on my previous P5W motherboard |
