Try simpler CFLAGS.

Have you run revdep-rebuild lately? It's in gentoolkit and it's worth a shot if things don't work well.

I guess that is unstable (~amd64) toolkit, I follow the Seren Install Guide.

well.. binutils-2.18.50.0.3 is development snapshot so I wouldn't be surprised if there was linking errors.
