Kernel Question

I'm using 2.6.24 kernel. And I've noticed something strange. When I tried to build my own kernel. I didn't get many options. But when I emerged genkernel. and did make menuconfig I got a dozen more choices and all. Why does the normal kernel get so many less options than with genkernel?

I think you should have the same options not using genkernel as well. It is just that some of the options depend on other options being set, so if you don't see all options maybe you have something else disabled (like for instance experimental options)

The options are all there. Selecting No, for some options turns off other complete menus, so you never see them.
