Hi
I have type
# emerge kde
but i get this error msg :\ :

I also had problems building kde-admin. IIRC, there was an error message that some step in the build process expected automake-1.7.2 but I had automake-1.7.5 installed. Not sure if this applies to you too, because the error message might appear a couple of lines above what you have quoted.
The obvious solution for me was to mask automake-1.7.5 in my /usr/portage/profiles/packages.mask file, remerge automake (1.7.2) and then emerge kde. The build then completed fine. (However, I still don't get very far actually running KDE... as you can see here. )

As far as I know, this bug is still open and the problem is still a problem. Does anybody have any news on the status of this bug? Any new Gentoo box wishing to emerge KDE will fail! _________________ Sal |
