I have a Centrino Duo

Code:

vendor_id       : GenuineIntel
cpu family      : 6
model           : 14
model name      : Genuine Intel(R) CPU           U2500  @ 1.20GHz
stepping        : 8

and I have noticed that p4-clockmod and acpi-cpufreq work, but p4-clockmod has more frequencies (150mhz to 1200mhz) Is there any significant difference or may I harm my hardware when using the wrong module? Which one is the right one?

Well the proper module is acpi-cpufreq. I am not sure whether p4-clockmod does any damage, but it slows down your computer to an unbearable level - at least IMO.
