Greetings,
Has anyone managed to get a usb to serial convertor running? Need to be able to talk to LOM ports and stuff, but laptop only has usb. What do I need to do?

You can get lots of good info at the Linux USB site. It looks like there are plenty of supported devices.
The only USB to Serial converter that I have used is the cable that came with my CyberPower UPS. I only tried it for fun, and ended up using the normal serial cable, but it worked with little or no effort other than setting up minicom to talk to it. |
