I had to buy a new mobo for my gentoo machine. Before that. before that I had a perfectly stable system.
Now with this board (MSI K7N2) I'm having a lot of stability problems, the system hangs randomly.
Another problem I have is that I can only use the onboard lan with vanilla-sources. on any other sources I tried (gentoo, ck, gaming) the lan came up fine, but it couldn't transmit anything.
Anyone having such problems?
Thank you.

Sure, with other kernels I emerge nforce-net and everything goes fine, modprobe nvnet and it loads fine.
ifconfig shows everything fine but tx and rx packets = 0
ping to other machines on my network time up, but a ping to my own machine (the ip of the network card) goes fine.
I did it the same way with all the kernels I tried and only on vanilla-sources worked.
very strange. |
