I've just noticed that my MAKEOPTS is set to "-j2" and in the die message was emake -j1 || die ...., can this be the problem ? If yes how can i fix it?

Thanks for any idea!

I had the same problem.
Just unmask (~x86) the app-pda/jpilot-0.99.9 - it works!

I need the jpilot-0.99.7-r1 since the machine i am running is a server and i don't want to install not fully tested packages. Also i am curious where the problem comes.
I am sure that somebody have solved this.
