I've almost completed an install of my first gentoo installation. I've gone for 1.4rc4 with a stage 1 tarball. It's gone fine - up until now.
I'm now on section 23 of the installation docs "Configuring a Bootloader". I've decided to go with lilo as I've configured it many times before but when I did :
emerge lilo
right at the end it reports:
!!! Couldn't download lilo-22.5.5.tar.gz
Looking back at the output it would seem that none of the distro mirrors have a lilo-22.5.5.tar.gz as after connecting to the various mirror each one reports a 404: Not Found error. I've had a poke around the mirror sites manually and tried a couple of other mirrors but the latest version available seems to be lilo-22.5.1.tar.gz
Any idea why this is broken in emerge?
Does anybody know where the new file is or how I can get it?
Can I configure emerge to bring in 22.5.1 instead?
I desperately want to continue and finish off my install so I can compare it against my 2 SuSE boxes !!

i get the same error that i cant download lilo-22.5.5 from any of the mirrors ??
is there something wrong with portage tree ?
is there really a version 22.5.5 ?

There must be something wrong with portage, cause you can download the file manually via ftp client from e.g. ftp.ibiblio.org/linux/distributions/gentoo/distfiles or so...
Download them by yourself and put them into /usr/portage/distfiles
that's it... |

i cant fint lilo-22.5.5.tar.gz on any mirror...
have tried ftp.ibiblio.org & ftp.sunet.se & ftp.gentoo.linux.no
not on any of them... is there really a 22.5.5 in gentoo portage tree ??
