I've been using my root account ever since the installation of Gentoo a few days ago. I decided to make a user account for everyday use. When I logged into my user account, some of the programs I emerged earlier (with the root acount) are no longer working. When I click on my MozillaFirebird icon, it doesn't do anything. I checked the link's properties and permissions and that doesn't seem to be the problem.
EDIT/UPDATE: After running MozillaFirebird in the terminal, it says:
Quote:

No running window found

After all that Mozilla trouble, I had to log into my root account to come here and the clock is broken. It says:

Quote:

The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_ClockApplet"
Details: Unknown CORBA exception id: 'IDL:omg.org/CORBA/INV_OBJREF:1.0'

Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?

My whole system is falling apart now. Is there any way I can revert it back to right after I emerged Gnome? I'd like to start over with a clean slate, but I don't want to emerge Gnome again.

Also... how do I change my refresh rate? Do I have to do that through Xfree? In KDE, there was a display manager thing where I could change it. Gnome is quite different though.

I decided to scrap Gnome and emerge KDE.
It (Gnome) was fun while it lasted.
