Ok, after reading the Nvidia FAQ, and browsing these forums, I must have tried about 30 different possibilities and spent at least 10 hours trying to get this to work with no luck. I have a Chaintech GeForce4 Ti4200 card that I want to feed both my 14" CRT and my TV. I have successfully been able to output video to both separately, but not at the same time. When trying different possibilities with Twinview, I can ONLY get video output on the TV, and the CRT remains blank. Below are the applicable parts of my XF86Config.

Code:

I'm just using dual monitors.. haven't used my tv out yet but one thing I did notice is that you don't have a boolean after twinview.. it should be
Code:
Option   "TwinView"     "true"

hopefully that works.

Yeah, I went through a few combinations in my early struggles. I tried:

Option "TwinView" "True"
Option "TwinView" "1"
and then just
Option "TwinView"

All did the same thing. TV works on it's own, monitor is blank.

as you already noticed on your XFree86.0.log
Code:
(WW) NVIDIA(0): Multiple displays connected, but only one display allowed;
(WW) NVIDIA(0):      using first display

that is the same problem I have... only nvtv can give me a chance to use both, but unfortunately there's no PAL-B/G in it so I can't use it, apart from b/n :(

try to use that
Code:
# emerge -p nvtv
...
# emerge nvtv

hope it can help you

I'm using a CRT and a TV with PAL, and it works fine with my GeForce4, the only different to your configuration I noticed was:
your config file:
Code:
Option               "ConnectedMonitor"   "CRT,TV"
Option               "TVStandard"   "NTSC-M"

I use
Code:
Option               "ConnectedMonitor"   "TV"
Option               "TVStandard" "PAL-B"

my MetaModes:
Code:
Option "MetaModes" "1600x1200, 800x600; 1600x1200, 1024x768; 1200x1024 800x600; 1024x768 800x600; 800x600, 800x600; 640x480, 640x480"

hope this will help you

No, I tried all of the above with no luck. I still get the error in my XFree86.0.log "Two displays detected, but only one display allowed". However, after reading over the Nvidia FAQ, i came across a possible solution and I tried the following and was able to get two separate screens set up on both displays at once, but, one is not a clone of the other. They look like two different X sessions. Maybe someone with a little more knowledge can take a look at what I did and modify it to work as a clone, because I no longer have any faith in getting the regular TwinView Clone option to work.

Code:

Section "Monitor"
    Identifier  "Monitor0"
    HorizSync   31-48
    VertRefresh 50-100
EndSection

Section "Monitor"

Ok, those who are having the same problem as me are now going to kill me. After finally giving up on trying to get this to work, I loaded up X using the EXACT same XF86Config file as I posted at the beginning just to get a verbose XFree86.0.log and much to my surprise, it worked! Now whenever I load up X, I get output on both my monitor and my TV (depending on which MetaMode I choose).

So you're probably saying to yourself <great, now what am I supposed to do?> Well, the only suggestion I have is to try what I did to get it working, simply load X using the following command
Code:

startx -- -logverbose 5

Oh, and while I'm now not using the EXACT same XF86Config as posted above, feel free to try the one I am using now:
Code:
