I am toying with the idea of getting a couple of TFT flat screens to replace my current 21"CRT. I have a NVidia Ti4600 card at the moment and not sure whether to add another card or replace it and get a dual VGA one. This then posses the question which is better TwinView or Xinerama. I am running XFCE4. |

(warning: This post should not be taken completely serious)
Get a Matrox Parhelia and use it with 3 screens! 3840x1024 is clearly superior to anything else

In my limited experience under Windows TwinView is very buggyand not really useful, I cannot say anything about Linux multiscreen support. But two cards seems quite wasteful to me. |

I used TwinView for the past year with a GeForce2Go. It was very nice and very stable. You cannot compare TwinView in Windows to TwinView in XFree, it isn't even really the same ballpark. _________________ Let us vote to dunk the witch in the river Styx and photograph the lye. |
