check your permissions. your audio /dev/ devices should be owned by the audio group, and your users should be in that group.
ogle should compile fine with the new portage 1.9.2.
Suse. bah.

maybe it should with 1.9.2, but it still doesn't. There is still the error within the ac3/a52-part (a52_decoder with me here).

permissions are fine.
sound works great on both kde and gnome (cd player, xmms, mp3 etc. )
The problems are with xine, Ogle and Mplayer
funny thing is that under gentoo 1.0 everything worked fine .
I only have issues with this release. (1.0a) |

Just rsynced, already have 1.9.2, but ogle does not compile :
a52_decoder.c: In function `main':
a52_decoder.c:219: `MM_ACCEL_MLIB' undeclared (first use in this function)
Otherwise, mplayer works fine (gui not tested) and xine also, though it won't play encrypted dvds (I thought the patch was included though). I did not check any further, I have the dvd drive out of the box right now.
