maildir, automaticly delete/backup old attachments

Hello, ok have mail server with some having mailboxs up to 11gb in size, i have suggested using automated system to archive old mail but this did not meet with great joy.

Now most of the space is taken up with attachments so am wondering is it is possible to remove only old attachments?

I know that horde has they facility for login maintenance!
