heh, that topic seems a little funnny.. well.. the topic isn't my biggest problem right now.. I did an emerge -p squirrelmail and saw that it want's x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r3 and x11-libs/qt-3.1.2-r3. Now I don't wan't to see X anywhere in my system, just tried to get rid of all traces of an emerge bitchx (wich also started to emerge x11). Can't I run squirrelmail whitout x-shit? if so.. how do I leave those packages out ;)

/vargen, who really needs to get some sleep now..

Aah.. It was that simple.. maybe you can tell me one more thing.. when I run
Code:
 USE="-X" emerge -p squirrelmail

I still get those x11-packages.. Is the -p not available with USE or?

PS
nice nick although it only works for those who speak deutsche

strange

in special squirrelmail is not much more than a bunch of PHP scripts AFAIK so i don't see any dependency to X

Code:
box # USE="-x" emerge -pv squirrelmail

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild  N   ] net-mail/squirrelmail-1.4.0-r1
box #

BTW: personally i like my sig more ;-)

PHP has a god awful amount of deps, and squirrelmail needs it
emerge -vp mod_php and see what you can turn off
