Hi all ! Here's the output from lspci on my HP 530 laptop.

Code:
laptop ~ # lspci
[b]00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Unknown device 27ac (rev 03)
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Unknown device 27ae (rev 03)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)[/b]
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)
00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) PCI Express Port 1 (rev 01)
00:1c.1 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) PCI Express Port 2 (rev 01)

02:06.0 CardBus bridge: ENE Technology Inc CB1410 Cardbus Controller (rev 01)
02:08.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82562ET/EZ/GT/GZ - PRO/100 VE (LOM) Ethernet Controller Mobile (rev 01)
10:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (rev 02)

Isn't there anything strange ? Why the two first devices are not recognized ? I'm running the gentoo-sources kernel, version : 2.6.24-r2 !

I think that the first entry blocks me when I try to use 915resolution :

Code:
laptop ~ # 915resolution -l
Intel 800/900 Series VBIOS Hack : version 0.5.3

Intel chipset detected.  However, 915resolution was unable to determine the chipset type.
Chipset Id: 27ac8086

but 915resolution -f 945GM -l works nice (but I did not find anywhere how to set up the forcing option in the configuration file !)

Thanks for your help, if someone can !

P.S.: I'm running in trouble with the 3945ABG wireless on this laptop even with using the new features of the last kernel... but I think that's not the right place to talk about this issue...

Hi,

try running update-pciids and see if there is any updated info on your devices.

Cheers,
