I'm attempting to have K3B copy some cds (both audio and data) and before it
even starts to read the cd to copy I get the following output
Code: | System
-----------------------
K3b Version: 0.9pre2
KDE Version: 3.1.2
QT Version: 3.1.2
cdrdao
-----------------------
Cdrdao version 1.1.7 - (C) Andreas Mueller <andreas@daneb.de>
SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling
Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty
Check http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt for current driver tables.
Using libscg version 'schily-0.7'
0,0,0: HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8400B Rev: 1.02
ERROR: No driver found for 'HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8400B', available drivers:
cdd2600
generic-mmc
generic-mmc-raw
plextor
plextor-scan
ricoh-mp6200
sony-cdu920
sony-cdu948
taiyo-yuden
teac-cdr55
toshiba
yamaha-cdr10x
For all recent recorder models either the 'generic-mmc' or
the 'generic-mmc-raw' driver should work.
Use option '--driver' to force usage of a driver, e.g.: --driver generic-mmc
ERROR: Cannot setup device 0,0,0.
cdrdao comand:
-----------------------
/usr/bin/cdrdao read-cd --device 0,0,0 --paranoia-mode 3 -n -v 2 --eject --remote 18 --datafile /tmp/kde-mars/k3b_0.img /tmp/kde-mars/k3b_0.toc |
How do I go about forcing the generic-mmc driver?
Thanks,
Steve |

I gave adding that info to the driver file a try, and now I get this response.
Code: | ERROR: Expecting only one toc-file. |
It says that the command entered was
Code: | /usr/bin/cdrdao read-cd --device 0,0,0 --paranoia-mode 3 driver generic-mmc -n -v 2 --eject --remote 19 --datafile /tmp/kde-mars/k3b_0.img /tmp/kde-mars/k3b_0.toc |
I have noticed that quite a few people have had this problem, but I haven't found any decent solution... any thoughts?
Thanks,
Steve |

Got it ! It seems as though I the driver listed in the link you gave me was just 2 digits off of the CD drive I have, and I didn't notice the difference pasting it in there. Regardless of the K3B config file telling it to use the generic-mmc driver it needed to be right in the cdrdao config. (I have since removed that edition to the K3B config since it seems to be redundant)
I have tested it with data cd's without problems I will attempt to read/write audio cds next.
I'll follow up in the thread if I encounter any problems.
Thanks a million guys (and girls),
Steve |
