Hey guys (and gals ),
is it safe to change the march option in a working system? And how do I then rebuild it all at once?
I just moved my gateway/server from a p166mmx to a 2xCoppermine 500MHz so I thought it'd be good to change it
Thanks in advance |

yeah, that should be okay... you might want to check your CHOST too, as you're probably going from 586 to 686.
an emerge -eav system followed by emerge -eav world should rebuild everything.

Yeah, it's safe, and an `emerge -e world` should re-emerge everything for you, although if yoour system isn't already up to date it could cause problems... _________________ "You have to invite me in" |

Thanks for the link I actually just run into some problems...it might be easily solvable but I'll use it as a reason to install myself a brand new gentoo - hardened this time
I've seen some dictionary attacks on my sshd recently so I thought that getting secure is generally smart. |
