I'm looking to buy a new page scanner with an
Auto Document Feeder.
Want speed equal to or better than two full color pages per minute at 300 dpi,
doesn't require putting on Ear Muffs when it is scanning to block
the noise, and costs less that $400.
My system is a AMD64, and want to use the scanner with XSane,
under Gentoo.
What have you found to work well? |

I haven't used any such device, but take a look at the compatibility list for SANE: http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#SCANNERS
If it's supported by SANE, it should work fine.
You could also try doing it the other way. What I like to do is search amazon or something for some hardware and then check the compatibility list.

| Let me know when you find one, because I've looked everywhere, and I couldn't find one that was good AND cheap. It was always one or the other. |
