Notebook with 1400x1050 - external monitor doesn't work

I have an Acer 630 series notebook with a 1400x1050 display.
Then I try to connect an external monitor, I can't switch the view to it (normally Fn+F5)

Graphics card : nvidia geforce 2 go

external monitor : 19" with 50-160 vert refresh, 30-96 horiz sync
