Is there a way? I saw something about a prog called enlightenment_remote, but I don't know where you get it from, or if it even works with e16?

edit: Also, EESH sounds like something that should be possible to use? And I noticed there are something called edox that should give me some more info...

I haven't come across enlightenment_remote, however eesh can do this, as can Esetroot and fbsetroot, two cli utilities provided by Eterm and fluxbox respectively.

Be carefull with eesh, if you just start it without any commands you'll enter the interactive shell, and `exiting` from this shell can exit from e16 too, I got screwed over by this more than once...

`eesh help bg` should tell you just about everything you need to know to do what you want.

Can Esetroot set the enlightenment background as well? It only sets the root picture for me, which is what pseudo-transparent apps use for their background. True transparent apps use the enlightenment background.

I'll check out eesh then, it sounds like it can do what I need.

Thanks :)

edit: Yeah, that did it.
