|
|
I upgraded my apache install from 2.0.59 to 2.2.8
I did etc-update (making sure to not overwrite my config files.)
I did update http.conf and the init.d startup file.
Now when I start apache it says it starts, but it won't serve a page. The browser just says unable to connect.
I've tried from the the server machine. (even doing 127.0.0.1)
As well as from anther machine.
The log shows that it starts, but the access log is showing no activity.
I re-emerged php and i did a revdep-rbuild.
I've tried accessing php pages as well as html pages and there is no difference.

I'd suggest taking a look at the Updating Apache page. Also, the config file changes are such that you can't just refuse to overwrite. |

Well I got it working again.
I moved my apache folder from /ete/ to my home directory.
I then re-emerged apache and php. It recreated the apache folder and all the config files.
At this point the server was working. Then I edited the new config files to work for my vhosts, etc. I still have to get ssl working. But I've been up all night and that can wait until tomorrow. |
