It looks like there is progress on the OpenOffice.org front. OpenOffice.org 1.1rc is showing up on the OpenOffice ftp mirrors.
Hopefully this will make it into portage in a timely manner. |

1.1 will be one sexy release, it can us both the QT and GTK toolkits depending on what desktop environment it finds itself in. _________________

Yeah . . . it would be just like the tv show. Except somebody would be watching. |

I just installed 1.1rc and it does not use Qt when run in KDE. I also did not find an option for this. Are you sure this is possible? I also did not find any mention of this on the OpenOffice.org website. |

wilburpan: thx for the info!
I don't really care about how OOo looks (it's ugly...), but this new release is 10 times faster than the las beta
PDF export seems to be a little better too. _________________ ((( WeFunk ))) |

This is a binary (also source) release, dig one of the mirrors on openoffice.org (seems to be down now).
One mirror I know of (in Hungary): http://ftp.fsf.hu/OpenOffice.org/stable/1.1rc/
/edit
it's already on the frontpage of oo.org _________________ ((( WeFunk ))) |

Atleast it used gtk2, havn't tried qt, I just assumed. For such a big office suit I I don't think that they would just ignore half of all the desktop users, or something ;D _________________
