Gnome 2.8 dual monitor problem?

Hmm...

I can't seem to get the gnome-panel to extend across both monitors like I would like. I have the xinerama use flag set... Any other suggestions, everything else seems to work fine but gnome-panel?

I don't think that it's supposed to to be honest. It used to do that long ago in a previous version, but it was pretty sucky UI wise. Can you add another panel in the second monitor to do what you want?
