...all in firefox. Point is that Adobe-Flash doesnt work for the compiled Firefox (because I run a x64 sys) whereas MPlayer-Plugin doesnt work for the BIN-Version of Firefox. Sorta screwed. But mind that I dont want to use the pluginwrapper for flash. I need to get it both going in Firefox. And I'd prefer if it worked for FF-BIn.

Code:
echo 'net-www/mplayerplug-in' >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
echo 'net-www/mplayerplug-in mplayer-bin' >> /etc/portage/package.use
emerge -av mplayerplug-in

And enjoy!

Hey Sir, it's not like I'd missed your help on the Channel last time, yngwin :-D

Maybe my fault I didn't brief you about the results explicitly.

In fact, it still want's to install FF as the compiling-version and I honestly doubt that confirming that will port the mplayerplug-in into Firefox-BIN, which I nessesarily have to use with intent to get Flash running.

So, if you can come up with any other ideas or correct me in regards to the above; I'd praise you :P

I understand this is all a bit confusing, so I will try to explain what is going on with this package.

The mplayer plugin needs to compile against some mozilla libraries. Therefore it needs one of mozilla-firefox, seamonkey or xulrunner as a dependency. You can use useflags to tell the ebuild which one you want it to use. USE=firefox or USE=seamonkey will give you the corresponding dependency, and USE="-firefox -seamonkey" will pull in xulrunner.

Setting the mplayer-bin useflag (on a amd64 profile) will pull in the 32bits mplayer-bin package as dependency, which will give you the possibility to use it with a 32bits browser, such as mozilla-firefox-bin.

If you are on amd64 multilib (the normal profile) it will actually build both the 32bits and the 64bits plugin. So depending on the presence of mplayer and/or mplayer-bin, you should actually be able to use both versions of the plugin.

Either way, following the instructions I provided earlier, you should get a working mplayer plugin for a 32bits browser.

I've tried it but divx is still not embedded into firefox-bin. What is left to do?

In Firefox, type 'about:plugins' in the adressbox and check to see if the plugin gets loaded.
