I tried to boot the new 2.6.23... kernel and got this. Did some investigating and it seems my install of grub had not been updated. Not sure why. Since no one has reported this in the Gentoo fora, I may have been the only lucky winner

The solution: mount /boot if you have a seperate boot partition; update grub. |

Hmm, I'd been thinking that newer grub ebuilds would either auto-mount /boot or warn about it if it wasn't mounted. |
