Hey,
Ive just followed the compiz-fusion guide at gentoo-wiki.
During the instaling no error what so ever, the configuration is a bit harder.
compiz-start fails with this error: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap missing
My window manager stops working after compiz-start. so i tried an : emerald --replace.
But this command does nothing, no output on the console what so ever yet the console doesn't skip to the next line.
Code: | kevin@laptop ~ $ emerald --replace
*blinking cursor*

I use KDE and I THINK the appropriate command there (from Konsole) would be 'kwin --replace' which would revert you back to the KDE window manager. As emerald is the 'decorator' for compiz, and compiz isn't working for you, you need to change 'emerald --replace' to your GUI's window manager. Make sense? |
