create a file in your home directory:

.xinitrc

and inside of it put:

exec startkde

You need a file named .xinitrc in your home directory. It must contain the following:
Code:

#!/bin/bash
startkde

And don't forget to configure your X server. Also do a
Code:

. /etc/profile

to update your path.

hmmm ok I'm away from my box right now so everything's out of memory but you should actually modify /etc/rc.conf (I think) and at the very bottom you should uncomment the line for your x session. Read the directions and it'll tell you to put something like kde-3.1 in.

It's the same file that you most likely edited upon install to set your time to LOCAL instead of UTC ...
