Hy,
I saw that setting up an cable's internet PPTP dialer suppose to be easy at gentoo (the deamon exist andeverything).
How do i config it?

And ofcourse to mknod /dev/ppp0 because is dont exist and dont know what to do |

All the cable modem providers I know of use DHCP to assign your address. They don't use PPTP. PPTP is used for creating a VPN tunnel.
Is your computer connected directly to the cable modem? Edit /etc/conf.d/net and make sure every line has a "#" in front except for "iface_eth0="dhcp"". And then run /etc/init.d/net.eth0 restart to bring up your network inferface. To make it come up during boot, do "rc-update add net.eth0 default". |

I'm sorry to dissapoint you but i know what i am talking about, my cabl provider ues PPTP VPN.
here in my country the cable provider is not the ISP.
And we must use PPTP dialer,
if i dont use pptp dialer, then every page i'm tryng to surf on is showing me a message that i should download the dialer. |
