The developers of the game Oniblade have decided to port their game to Linux if they can get 10,000 signatures on this petition. Even if you don't care about this game, please sign the petition. If one game is ported to Linux, others will follow.

IT WORKED!! A post from the developers on their official forum said that 1000 signatures where enough! They are going to make a console port first, but it is coming to linux in a few months! There will probably be a pre-order option as well!
Of course, even more signatures are always welcome |

Not a gamer anymore, but Linux is the future _________________ Gentoo is the stick-shift of Linux.
You work it manually, it has somewhat better performance, but it's really for the fun of it. |

I hate to be contrary, but just signing a petition for a given game if you don't intend to play it can do more harm than good.
Scenario:
10000 people sign. 8000 just did it to get another game ported to linux and have no intent to play.
The developer puts x hours of development time into the linux version, puts it up for sale, and 2000 buy it, so don't recoup the cost for supporting our demographic.
That will tell developers that only 20% of people that say they want a linux game really want it, and porting to linux is a waste of time, even if you get a petition that says you'll cover your costs.
As in most other things, honesty is the best policy here.

You must admit, many *NIX users will go out of their way to test a game, if they're kind enough to make a *NIX port to it. I know I always do, and definitely will if this game passes a port. |

I haven't heard of the game, but as the OP said, any game ported to Linux is sure to bring more attention to the developers of other games =)
