Hi, I'm trying to get my new GNOME to play sounds. I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 with Cirrus CS4205 and read in the forums that I needed the i810_audio module. I recompiled my kernel, added i810_audio to /etc/modules.autoload, and restarted. It found the module just fine, and I no longer get an annoying message about not having /dev/sound/mixer, but I still have no sound. I'm a total newbie - am I missing something really obvious? The other threads I found on this issue indicated that sounds should work "like a charm" after installing the module. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
