ho tirato su un server rsync, supporta 20 utenti ed ha ... abbastanza banda.
Avete voglia di provarlo? |

L'ho appena provato per il sync giornaliero. Direi che va decisamente bene, mi pare pure abbastanza veloce, complimenti!
Cmq per chi vuole provarlo anche senza modificare il make.conf basta dare un bel:
SYNC="rsync://81.113.174.102/gentoo-x86-portage/" emerge sync
Per il motd per me puoi anche lasciare le caratteristiche del server come adesso, massimo un bel disegnino in ascii che fa sempre piacere  |

finchè non verrò accettato dal master control
poi in teoria mi troverete a random.
la scrittina in ascii la sto preparando, xò boh pensavo anche ad un paio di frasette tipo che anche gli italiani ci sono e contribuiscono etc etc
che dite? |

Mah, io preferisco sempre il basso profilo, cioè non farsi notare troppo, fare le cose bene e lasciare che siano gli altri se vogliono ad apprezzare o meno. Le cose un po' più serie e professionali insomma. Quindi le frasi sull'essere italiano e simili le eviterei, in favore, come dicevo prima, d'un semplice profilo del server e massimo un'immaginetta (piccola) in ascii, robetta del genere, fine ed elegante. Certo, se però trovi una frase capolavoro come quella di Peach (quella che windows si pianta da solo ) allora ben venga!  |

guarda che gli italiani ci sono già: ad esempio c'è un mirror a trieste 
cmq mi sono appena sincronizzato
velocità da 1 a 10: 6,5
non c'è male, ma con alcuni server mirror nordici viaggio molto più veloce
ops, al secondo tentativo è una lippa (direi 9,5)
mmmh, cache? tempi di accesso al disco? |

Il disco è uno scsi a 10000rpm.
Ho tolto l'opzione --bwlimi così in teoria lui dovrebbe spingere al max.
Ho cercato di fare rtfm.. ma tutto qeullo che si trova è una piccolissima paginetta dove spiegano non benissimo come funziona il demone. |

è motlo sopra i 10mbit.
ha raid striping.. quindi immagina se si inkioda un disco cosa succede...
Cmq vabbeh.. io lo avevo installato per curiosità.. e non ha riscontrato un grosso successo... mi spiace. Cmq appena la macchina è operativa lo metto online, e aspetto di avere la "certificazione" dal master control,.. poi se andrà tutto bene lo beccherete a random e amen...
