Suppose you need help and someone on a bb asks you to create an account on your computer so that he can log in using ssh and help you. What kind of account should be created so that the person is able to help you but can't read your files etc?
Please give me some hints! I never used ssh before. Do you think such a thing is safe?

I wouldn't do it unless you know and really trust the person. Which from your post I gather that isn't the situation. In order for them to be much help you're going to have to give them an account where they can do something. Anything less and they can help you just as well from the bb. Really, what do they need to do that they need ssh access to you're machine for?

He didn't explain why he needed access to my computer.
The problem he is trying to help me with is a problem with xmule and emule: I'm not usually able to perform searches. It's not due to my firewall settings. I can turn it off and I still can't search. But Edonkey on Windows can perform searches connecting to the same ports. I think it's a problem with my ISP's firewall.

Yeah, he's looking for a mule alright...

"Boy, my system sure is slow these days. And how come I'm getting all these angry emails from sysadmins I don't even know. Hey, none of my email is getting through... looks like I'm on something called a SPEWS list..."

:P
