|
|
I'm trying to set up a (nearly) headless box to have a bittorrent client running all the time so that my roommates and I can just upload torrent files to that and get all the files from there when we need them. The only one I can figure out a good way to get it to work is Azureus, and, while that works, this is also a mythbox that needs fast response and when I run Azureus on it, it lags a little too much.
So my question is, what torrent clients that run on Linux and can run solely on a Web UI? _________________ "it's like sex, except over ssh" ~Valkura

mldonkey has a pretty good web ui (and really easy to set up), however it's not really just a torrent p2p app... _________________ "You have to invite me in" |

Might I recommend btg? It's available in portage as well.
Comes with a javascript-based web UI, as well as command line and ncurses. You'll need a web server (apache or lighttpd) for the UI, though. _________________ Gnome:

The folks over at the Clutch project, a web UI for Transmission, have just released 0.4.

IIRC KTorrent has a web management plugin.
I'm not sure how you intend to get it running 'tho, unless you're gonna put vncserver on it or use a KVM or something... |

Apologies for digging up an old thread but I figured since my question is along the same lines I might as well use it rather than creating a new thread.
I'm looking for a (semi) headless client with WebUI capabilities and:
- reasonably updated (TorrentFlux/b4rt development seems to have died)
- natively supports queueing
- has decent support for multiple users and independent queues
I've tried rtorrent with a number of different WebUI's, b4rt. Poked around a bit with deluge/transmission but not enough to figure out whether they fit my requirements.
Hopefully someone else has gone through this whole headless client/WebUI thing before and can save me some time! |
