Hiya,
I'm another of these new to linux people and i've been playing with gentoo. i have install it all fine but when it boots i get:
bringing eth0 up...
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
eth0: unknown interface: no such device
SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device
eth0: unknown interface: no such device
SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device
Failed bringing up eth0
error: problem starting needed serviced
"netmount" was not started
i have read something about needing to compile the driver in to the kernel... i dont know if this is the problem or if its something else.... what do i need to do? PLEASE HELP im scared! lol _________________ ~Scatty |

actualy void this one, my mate whos a bit of a linux guru showed me how to recompile the kernel so i added in my network card _________________ ~Scatty |
