Installing on a Toshiba Portege 4010 with stage 1 CD. The bootstrap.sh file cannot be found. Searched forums, which were unable to help.
Forums did direct me to use the "nodetect" flag to solve a problem I had with an advancing cursor. |

are you sure that you did the following? :
Code: |
cd /mnt/gentoo
tar -xvjpf /mnt/cdrom/gentoo/stage1-*.tar.bz2
cd /usr/portage
scripts/bootstrap.sh
|
somewhere along the way? Make sure you did the tar command with stage1 and not stage3. Stage 3 does not include the bootstrah script AFAIK. |

None of the stages include bootstrap.sh
You get it when you emerge sync |

Thanks I had some trouble following the installation guide. I'm now on to getting my network card working so I can emerge sync. I'll keep at it. |
