How do I get Compiz Fusion plugins in Gentoo that are so new they aren't even in unsupported plugins? The plugins I'm talking about are like 3D Windows, Screen Saver, and Freewins plugin. |

3D Windows are actually included in unsupported? at least here. do you use live git ebuilds? |

You simply emerge them from desktop-effects overlay.
compiz-plugins-freewins-9999 etc... _________________ http://proaudio.tuxfamily.org/wiki - pro-audio software overlay

Not all plugins are in the desktop-effects overlay. I would be careful installing
the ones that are not in the overlay since they are the most unstable.
To get/see what plugins are in the compiz-fusion repo go here.
http://gitweb.compiz-fusion.org/?o=age
Be sure to scroll down and verify the version you are DL so that you do not
have a version mismatch. If not using the desktop-effects overlay then i would
not recommend adding the plugins from git. I would suggest installing these as
local user rather then root/sudo. _________________ Core i7 920 D0 | Asus P6T DLX | Patriot Viper 1600 6GB | Antec Quattro 850W
