Hi.
I've created a Gentoo Linux LiveUSB and tested it on two laptops. Everything ok.
The issue is that I can't boot on my mini-itx Jetway J7F2 board. I've upgraded BIOS from version A8 to A14 hoping that http://www.jetwaycomputer.com/VIA2.html wrote: | A12. Fix boot from USB compatibility issue. | solved my problem. It didn't
On BIOS I've enabled:
USB Host Controller
USB 2.0 Support
USB Device Legacy Support
The main issue I think is that there is no USB-HDD option on Boot Devices list. Only USB-FDD, USB-ZIP and USB-CDROM (none of them work).
Anyone managed to boot from a usb pendrive on Jetway or VIA boards? |

I had a mini-itx board like that (not the same make tho).....I had to connect a USB CD-Rom drive and boot from that.
Nothing else would work |

Hi richard.scott.
I've got in touch with jetway technical support but the all the stuff they told me I've already tried before. I've asked for further information but they are silent till today. So no good news for me.
I would like to know some news from good people with the same mobo as mine. It seems that USB-CDROM is the only way... |
