Hi!
My Gentoo Live CD for AMD64 2004.2 doesn't recognise my Realtek RTL8110S (gigabit-)LAN-controller.
Is there any way to get it working?
Btw: which path does a HD on a Via VT8237 SATA controller have (like: /dev/hda etc)? |

Try this:
modprobe r8169
And it's called a device file... SATA controllers generally use the SCSI layer, so that means it's probably like /dev/sda

Thanks, the r8169 kernel module works fine. (oddly the 2004.1 livecd loads this module automatically and the 2004.2 doesn't :s)
I still can't find the device file for my harddisk. In /dev/scsi there are no device files (I use devfs), and in /dev/ide there are only my PATA cdrom and cdrw.
[edit] I forgot to mention: if I execute dmesg, the disk is given the name "hde"[/edit]
Maybe I should search some topics (I'm not the only one with the Via VT8237) or start a new topic about this. |
