Hi,
I have an a8n-vm csm mobo and I just got a tv-out bracket for it. I always used this computer with my LCD monitor but now I want to play some video on my tv. My currento Xorg.conf works for my LCD and I would like to change it to work with the tv.
I found a wiki (not a forum where I could ask the author) that he added TVOutFormat "COMPOSITE" under his Device section. And this did the trick.
The problem here is that I have 2 device secxtions:
"Standard VGA" and "NVIDIA".
Wich one do I use?
Is this everything? Just add one line?
Thank you all for reading this. |

nvidia, but you should be able to pretty much strip your xorg.conf's video section, set the driver to nvidia, neglect to hook up the LCD... then start X.
X should start on the tv with nvidia set to 1024x768, which is good enough for tv use.

Hi! Thanks for the reply! Well, I just did it and it works! But the image is not as sharp as I would like it to be. Do I need to change my "screen" session to something that has my tv specs? Thank you for your suggestion! |

probably not... if you're using a CRT tv with low DPI you won't be able to get it any clearer... _________________

would you mind posting your xorg.conf so I can compare to mine? I've managed to get some tv-out output but it's too distorted. _________________ A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions. - Oliver Wendell Holmes |
